What’s in the bag

I know I’m always interested to see what people carry around in their handbags, so I thought I’d let you all in on mine!
The bag is Chloe, the black medium Paraty. Now, I thought long and hard before purchasing this baby! By long and hard I mean 2 years!

The thought of splurging that sort of money on a bag made my stomach knot but I can safely say I have no buyer’s remorse. I got this off net-a-porter about 2-3 years ago and I have used it every day since so my investment has definitely paid off. I chose black because it’s timeless, classic and can be worn with anything. This is also one of their signature designs that pretty much comes out every year- I love that it doesn’t follow a specific ‘trend’ and won’t go out of fashion. I still continue to get compliments on it as the leather is so beautiful and wears amazingly well.
I pretty much have everything except the kitchen sink in my handbag but this post has made me do a nice clean out, so… to the important stuff!

Marc Jacobs Wallet
I got this wallet for my 20th birthday and it’s absolutely perfect. It’s timeless in design and fits all my cards, notes and cash. At first I was a bit worried about getting such a big wallet but realised, I always have my Chloe with me and it will always fit! Plus, it has a pocket on the back of it which fits my iPhone if I ever decide not to bring a bag. These are available on www.shopbop.com.au
IPhone- who can live without it!
Beauty Case: Travel essentials! I make sure to keep with me a couple of lipsticks, lip balm, powder foundation, compact mirror, nail file, eyeliner and concealer (all travel sized). This is great for that make up touch up you need throughout the day. Really comes in handy when you’re about to step into a meeting or need to go out straight after work- just keeps you nice and polished.

Medicine case: I got the Glomesh purse from my parents for Christmas about 8 years ago and it’s still one of my faves. There’s nothing worse than being stuck in public with a raging head ache or stomach ache and not having anything to help!
Earphones: Because who can really live without music.
Keys: Because who can get anywhere without them
Hand cream: Crabtree and Evelyn, Summer Hill Hand Therapy

Happy is the home with at least one cat

After the sad passing of my little darling dog, I felt we had to have another animal in the house. It just feels so empty and lonely without one. There is no way in the world we could EVER replace our little boy so we ended up getting an entirely different species. A cat. Well, actually, two of them.

When we went to the Cat Haven in Shenton Park we went in with the idea of getting one female.

We came home with two male cats.

We were pretty much on our way out the door when a woman came in carrying a crate of beautiful black and white kittens. Immediately my mum asked about them and picked up a gorgeous black and white kitten named Mossimo.

We fell in love.

After a few minutes and all the other kittens being adopted, we saw a tiny little ball of fluff hiding in the corner of the crate. This black and white darling was named Gizmo and was the last kitten left. Picking him up, we knew we had to take both brothers home.

The other day, I read an article about black cats and how they are half as likely to be adopted because they are deemed ‘bad luck’ https://au.news.yahoo.com/thewest/a/24180796/black-cats-suffer-bad-luck-prejudice/

You know what, I can safely say that I am the luckiest person ever for adopting these two little boys. They are so full of personality; crave attention and just love being near each and every one of our family members. I know it seems strange but they seem to appreciate you giving them a home. It’s funny how you can just look at them and they bring a smile to your face, they sort of become your world. Fellow cat lovers will know it’s almost better to cut off the sleeve of your best robe than to disturb your sleeping cat., they're that special.

I think that
cat people are different, to the extent that they generally are not conformists. How could they be, with a cat running their lives? I’m proud to say I’m a cat lady. Not because I’m like the character in the Simpsons, but because I can appreciate how amazing they are as a species, how they love you unconditionally and become one of your best friends that are always there for you.

So if you’re thinking about getting a pet, give the cat a thought. Don’t shop, adopt and if you add a new little black family member to the mix consider yourself lucky.
